"Whosoever desires honour, power and glory then to Allah belong all honour, power and glory...

Allah, Glorified is He, the Most High, says, ([interpretation of the meaning]),
"Whosoever desires honour, power and glory then to Allah belong all honour, power and glory [and one can get honour, power and glory only by obeying and worshipping Allah (Alone)]. To Him ascend (all) the goodly words, and the righteous deeds exalt it (the goodly words i.e. the goodly words are not accepted by Allah unless and until they are followed by good deeds), but those who plot evils, theirs will be severe torment. And the plotting of such will perish. "

Despair not of the Mercy of Allah, verily, Allah forgives all sins...

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymuiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
No sin is too great for Allah to forgive for the one who repents, rather He forgives shirkh and other sins for those who repent, as Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"Say: O 'Ibadi (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by commiting evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah, verily, Allah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

‘O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done...

Anas ibn Malik (May Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Allah, may He be blessed and exalted, said:
‘O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you and I would not mind.' "

An atoms worth of Pride...

From 'Abdullaah Ibn Mas'ud who related that the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: "Whoever has an atoms worth of kibr (pride) in his heart will not enter Paradise." So a man asked: "What about a person who loves (i.e., takes pride in) wearing beautiful clothes and beautiful shoes?" So he replied: "Indeed Allah is beautiful and loves beauty. Kibr (pride) is to reject the truth, and to despise the people."

"Is not He (better than your gods) Who created the heavens and the earth, and sends down for you water (rain) from the sky..

"Is not He (better than your gods) Who created the heavens and the earth, and sends down for you water (rain) from the sky, whereby We cause to grow wonderful gardens full of beauty and delight? It is not in your ability to cause the growth of their trees. Is there any ilah (god) with Allah? Nay, but they are a people who ascribe equals (to Him)"
