Seeking refuge with Allaah from the fitnah of the Dajjaal, especially in salaah (prayer)..

Seeking refuge with Allaah from the fitnah of the Dajjaal, especially in salaah (prayer):

Muslim narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘When any one of you says Tashahhud, let him seek refuge with Allaah from four things, and say:Allaahumma inni a’oodhi bika min ‘adhaab jahannam wa min ‘adhaab al-qabri wa min fitnat il-mahyaa wa’l-mamaat wa min sharri fitnat al-maseeh al-dajjaal (O Allaah, I seek refuge with You from the torment of Hell, from the torment of the grave, from the trials of life and death, and from the evil of the fitnah of the Dajjaal).”’” (Narrated by Muslim, no. 924)

"Whosoever desires honour, power and glory then to Allah belong all honour, power and glory...

Allah, Glorified is He, the Most High, says, ([interpretation of the meaning]),
"Whosoever desires honour, power and glory then to Allah belong all honour, power and glory [and one can get honour, power and glory only by obeying and worshipping Allah (Alone)]. To Him ascend (all) the goodly words, and the righteous deeds exalt it (the goodly words i.e. the goodly words are not accepted by Allah unless and until they are followed by good deeds), but those who plot evils, theirs will be severe torment. And the plotting of such will perish. "

From 'Abdullaah Ibn Mas'ud who related that the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: "Whoever has an atoms worth of kibr (pride) in his heart will not enter Paradise." So a man asked: "What about a person who loves (i.e., takes pride in) wearing beautiful clothes and beautiful shoes?" So he replied: "Indeed Allah is beautiful and loves beauty. Kibr (pride) is to reject the truth, and to despise the people."

Hide your sins... "All the sins of my followers will be forgiven except..

Hide your sins.

The Prophet salAllahu alayhi wa sallam said,
"All the sins of my followers will be forgiven except those of the Mujahirin(those who commit a sin openly or disclose their sins to the people). An example of such disclosure is that a person commits a sin at night and though Allah screens it from the public, then he comes in the morning, and says, 'O so-and-so, I did such-and-such (evil) deed yuesterday,' though he spent his night screened by his Lord (none knowing about his sin) and in the morning he removes Allah's screen from himself."

Sweetness of Faith/Iman

The Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wa sallam) said, "There are three qualities, whoever has them will taste the sweetness of Iman:
- To love Allah and His Messenger (salAllahu alayhi wa sallam) more than anyone else;
- To love a slave (of Allah) only for (the sake of) Allah;
- and to abhor returning to infidelity after Allah has saved him from in as he would abhor to be thrown into the fire (of Hell)."

Reference: Al Bukhari and Muslim

Commentary:
1. In this hadith, the love of Allah signifies the sweetness of Iman.
2. The love of Allah and his Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wa sallam) is the cornerstone of the Faith. When it is said that this loveshould exceed one's love for everything else in the universe, it means that what is enjoined by Allah and His Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wa sallam) must be given preference over everything else, whether it it love for the wife, children, worldly interests, desires or whims. When there is a clash between the two, the former should be given preference over the latter.
