An-Najwa (secret talk between Allah and His believing worshipper on the Day of Judgment)

A man asked Ibn ‘Umar (radhiAllahu ‘anhu),
"What did you hear Allah’s Apostle saying regarding An-Najwa (secret talk between Allah and His believing worshipper on the Day of Judgment)?" He said, "(The Prophet said), "One of you will come close to his Lord till He will shelter him in His screen and say: Did you commit such-and-such sin? He will say, ‘Yes.’ Then Allah will say: Did you commit such and such sin? He will say, ‘Yes.’ So Allah will make him confess (all his sins) and He will say, ‘I screened them (your sins) for you in the world, and today I forgive them for you."’

...Every person is a pledge for what he has earned."

"A warning to mankind,
To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins),
Every person is a pledge for what he has earned."

...Verily! Those on whom you call besides Allah, cannot create (even) a fly, even though they combine together for the purpose...

"O mankind! A similitude has been coined, so listen to it (carefully): Verily! Those on whom you call besides Allah, cannot create (even) a fly, even though they combine together for the purpose. And if the fly snatched away a thing from them, they would have no power to release it from the fly. So weak are (both) the seeker and the sought.
They have not estimated Allah His Rightful Estimate; Verily, Allah is All-Strong, All-Mighty."

Be Seekers of HIS Face inshaaAllah...

"And keep yourself (O Muhammad salAllahu alayhi wa sallam) patiently with those who call on their Lord (i.e. your companions who remember their Lord with glorification, praising in prayers, etc., and other righteous deeds, etc.) morning and afternoon, seeking His Face, and let not your eyes overlook them, desiring the pomp and glitter of the life of the world; and obey not him whose heart We have made heedless of Our Remembrance, one who follows his own lusts and whose affair (deeds) has been lost.

Sweetness of Faith/Iman

The Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wa sallam) said, "There are three qualities, whoever has them will taste the sweetness of Iman:
- To love Allah and His Messenger (salAllahu alayhi wa sallam) more than anyone else;
- To love a slave (of Allah) only for (the sake of) Allah;
- and to abhor returning to infidelity after Allah has saved him from in as he would abhor to be thrown into the fire (of Hell)."

Reference: Al Bukhari and Muslim

Commentary:
1. In this hadith, the love of Allah signifies the sweetness of Iman.
2. The love of Allah and his Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wa sallam) is the cornerstone of the Faith. When it is said that this loveshould exceed one's love for everything else in the universe, it means that what is enjoined by Allah and His Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wa sallam) must be given preference over everything else, whether it it love for the wife, children, worldly interests, desires or whims. When there is a clash between the two, the former should be given preference over the latter.
